10 Gulf Shores Signature Experiences Under $30

I know, you want to squeeze in one last beach trip before the holidays, but your vacation fund is getting a bit low. Don’t worry, you can still have a great time in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Alabama on a budget, you just need to know where to go.

Here are eight awesome family-friendly activities that you can do for under $30.

Fort Morgan State Park: Escape the beach for a day and take a tour of Fort Morgan. It’s fun to just walk around the fort that was built in the early 1800’s, or time it to take a guided tour. And for something completely different, Fort Morgan now has an Escape Room. Take on the persona of a captured Civil War spy and see if you can escape the room.

Gulf Shores Banana Boat Rides: Amp up a day on the beach with a Banana Boat Ride. The kids can all pile (up to six people per boat) and children as young as three can participate.

Caribe Cruiser Dolphin Tours Orange Beach: One of the highlights for any trip to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach is seeing the dolphins. Listen to beach music in the shade of a covered boat. As a bonus, kids 3 and under are free!

Sunset Dolphin Cruise by the Fun Boats: The only thing better than finding dolphins is doing it while watching the sunset over the back bays of Orange Beach. Add to it an epic water fight and you’ve got yourself an evening of inexpensive fun.

Animal Encounters. Join the keepers at the Gulf Coast Zoo to learn what goes on behind the scenes. Pet a kangaroo, interact with a sloth, enter the lemur’s playhouse. Sign me up for the sloth encounter, those guys are pretty cool.

Beading Classes: Grab the females in your group for a little girl time at Blue Girls Beading. They offer drop-in classes during the afternoons when an instructor is available. Just call ahead or book a class beforehand.

Trampoline Jump Experience at the Factory: At the Factory, the kids are encouraged to bounce off the walls, really. My kids love flipping into the foam pits too.

Guided Pier Walk. Explore the biodiversity of the Gulf with a trained naturalist during a one-hour guided pier walk. The best part about this one, the price, it’s FREE!

Orange Beach Paddleboard Rentals by Happy Harbors: Stand Up Paddleboarding has become quite the range. I love the perspective and being able to see what is swimming around below. It’s a perfect way to get a little exercise and explore the bays and coves around

More Signature Experiences: Bargains are great, but you may want to splurge on just ONE activity – like maybe the chef’s table with David Pen. I did a similar chef’s tasting menu with my son in Florida and we LOVED it.
