If you need a holiday gift that you are sure fits, and will have the receiver looking forward to something in the new year, try tickets to a show. It’s a fun way to extend the holiday season a bit longer.
Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing Act3 Productions version of Peter and the Starcatcher. The play runs February 8 – 24 at Act3 Playhouse, 6285-R Roswell Road in Sandy Springs.
The Tony award winning show upends the century old story of how a miserable orphan comes to be The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up (a.k.a. Peter Pan). Tickets are just $15-$30 and may be purchased at www.act3productions.org.
A Little About the Show
From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair…and the bonds of friendship, duty and love.
A young orphan and his mates are shipped off from Victorian England to a distant island ruled by the evil King Zarboff. They know nothing of the mysterious trunk in the captain’s cabin, which contains a precious, otherworldly cargo.
At sea, the precocious young girl named Molly discovers the boys. Molly is a Starcatcher in training who realizes the trunk’s precious cargo is star stuff, a celestial substance so powerful that it must never fall into the wrong hands.
When the ship is taken over by pirates – led by the fearsome Black Stache, a villain determined to claim the trunk and its treasure for his own – the journey quickly becomes a thrilling adventure.
The performance schedule is: February 8, 9, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23 at 8pm
February 10, 17, 24 at 3pm. Group rates are available by calling 770-241-1905.
