Tis the season for a bevy of Christmas-inspired cocktails and tons of decorations…along with some social distancing measures and mask requirements

Expect over-the-top decorations, seasonal cocktails, festive food specials, and plenty of photo opportunities at holiday-themed bars all around the city. And don’t dawdle — most of the pageantry disappear after the new year.

Miracle Bar

Miracle Bar is returning for 2020. What is it? Imagine a Christmas-themed pop-up cocktail bar that serves holiday cocktails in a festive setting. With kitschy holiday décor, professionally-developed cocktails and the nostalgic energy of the best office party you’ve ever been to, Miracle is sure to get even the grouchiest grinch in the holiday spirit.

Find Miracle @ Wonderkid at Atlanta Dairies and Miracle @ Parish 7 days a week. Miracle @The Fox Theatre’s Marquee Club is by reservation only.

Sippin’ Santa

Sippin’ Santa was born as the companion pop-up to Miracle that focuses on the themes of tiki and Christmas. Imagine Santa on a surfboard instead of a sleigh and palm trees instead of pine.

The Blitzen Room at Biltong Bar

Biltong Bar is “Up to Snow Good” as they transform their spaces into their second annual holiday pop-up: The Blitzen Room. Find them at the Ponce City Market and Buckhead Village locations, and at Avalon’s Holiday Market. The restaurants will feature swanky, vintage Christmas decor and seasonally themed cocktails. Bourbon fan? Head to Avalon where the drinks reflect their partnership with Maker’s Mark.

Church Street Vacation at The Third Door

The Third Door in Marietta Square has transformed into the Church Street Vacation in December, a holiday pop-up that’s themed after National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

At this pop-up, you’ll find cocktails like the “I Don’t Know Margo!” (a vodka gimlet made with candy cane cordial), the “Where’s the Tylenol” (a baking spice infused Old Fashioned), and the “Little Full, Lotta Sap” (a hot toddy featuring blended scotch, lemon, honey and pine).

The Third Door is all decked out in holiday decor to make the experience super merry. You may even see Cousin Eddie while you’re there!

McCallister’s Christmas at Over the Top Burger Bar

Head over to Over the Top Burger Bar in Buford and experience their Home Alone inspired Christmas Pop-Up bar that will have Christmas cocktails, décor & inspired food.

Enjoy Home Alone inspired cocktails like the “Keep the Change,” the “Filthy Animal,” the “Look What You Did You Little Jerk,” or the “I Made My Family Disappear,” just to name a few!

Awesome burgers, yummy milkshakes, and some majorly awesome theming make this a must-do! They’ve got a kids menu too, so your little ones can join in on the fun.

Happy WHO-lidays at Mercantile Social

Mercantile Social is up to SOOO good with a Who-ville transformation this month. Insta-perfect Christmas decor and a menu to match make this Alpharetta stop a must. Try the Grinch Nog, the Cindy Lou Who Martini, or the Mistletoe Margarita to get you in the spirit. Hungry? They’re even carving a Roast Beast!!

After your cocktail, head over to Sis and Moon’s (also in Alpharetta) where you can take part in a shopping pop up that would make Clark proud! Pose for selfie in the ideal National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation living room replica. The hilarious details even include the squirrel in the tree. Cute shopping ideas galore here!

Holiday Social Bar on The Roof

Just inside the tower lobby at PMC, the Holiday Social Bar will welcome Roof-goers with an over-the-top experience bursting with whimsical decor and holiday-inspired drinks.

Jingle Bar at {three} sheets!

For the first time in the lounge and bar’s history, {three} sheets is transforming into a winter wonderland this holiday season. The Sandy Springs lounge will be decked out in Christmas décor, playing all the holiday hits on repeat, and mixing up delicious, themed cocktails in specialty glassware, as well as serving deliciously festive small plates.

Joy Cafe

Joy Cafe is celebrating the most joyful time of year with its first annual Naughty or Nice Holiday Pop-up! Decked with over-the-top holiday decor and a Christmas tree anchoring the dining room, the restaurant will serve a special holiday cocktail menu with drinks served in festive and cheeky glassware. Cheery servers will don jolly gear, and the restaurant will extend their hours to 1am Tuesday through Saturday for additional merriment.

MixMas at 12 Cocktail Bar

12 Cocktail Bar is celebrating the season with a Mixmas cocktail menu, including drinks like “Sleigh Fuel” with bourbon, cinnamon, eggnog and coffee, and the “This Christmas I Gave You a Daiquiri,” made with dark rum, lime, pineapple, allspice and cherry. Reservations here are highly recommended.

The Blind Elf 

The Blind Pig Parlour Bar will reopen as The Blind Elf to spread cheer throughout the holiday season! Guests can expect a festive, holiday-themed bar adorned with twinkling lights and holiday decor. Special themed drinks, both warm and chilly, will be crafted to keep guests in a spirited mood. Light bites will be served alongside the Insta-worthy menu of libations. Open Wednesday-Sunday from 5pm till late. Reservations recommended.

Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil

The rooftop bar at Hotel Clermont has been transformed for the winter months into a sultry, Spanish moss draped lair, with one side good, and the other side evil. If you enjoyed the book by John Berendt based in Savannah, then ramble on over to Ponce de Leon Ave. for a Birds on Bonaventure, a plantation pineapple rum, capari, lime and co-cola delight. Hours are Monday – Friday 5:30 – 12 pm, Saturday 12 to 12 and Sunday 12 – 10 pm.

Getaway in a Glass

While not exactly a pop up, it’s still worth sharing the Loews Atlanta Getaway in a Glass flavors for those who prefer to sip under the colorful lights of their own tree. Here’s your make-at-home Midtown Gin + Tonic recipe so you can create their iconic drink for your family.

Top with Q Bottled Tonic

Serve in snifter over crushed ice
