The truth is…there is so much to do! And this year, a new set of holiday activities has been introduced. It all sounds so amazing, and we just had to share it with you.

CHRISTMAS IN THE COPPER BASIN
The Copper Basin in actually an area of Tennessee right on the GA border…but it’s so close to Blue Ridge that they’ve adopted the town. Seriously…it’s just over the blue line…you know the one I’m talking about in McCaysville, right?
Both Blue Ridge and McCaysville have lots of great holiday happenings going on in 2021. Enjoy holiday shopping, awesome dining, and fun activities all season long. Here are some of our favorites.
Light Up Blue Ridge. Blue Friday will be held the day after Thanksgiving and will include downtown merchants store discounts, Christmas holiday cheer, food vendors and strolling entertainment. Light Up Blue Ridge day will be full of Christmas cheer, strolling Christmas entertainment, food vendors, and children will be able to visit Santa Clause in the gazebo located in the Downtown Blue Ridge City Park. DATES: Nov. 26-27, 2021
Light Up McCaysville. Light up the season on the river with family & friends in McCaysville! Shop, dine, & unwind into the holidays. Make sure to visit Santa in the Riverwalk Shops. Light-up festivities will begin at 4 p.m. and the lighting of the tree is at 7:00 p.m. DATE: Nov. 26, 2021
Ride the Holiday Express. Come join the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway for a festive 1-hour train ride on the Holiday Express in which you can listen to holiday music, hear the story “The Night Before Christmas,” enjoy delicious hot chocolate or other snacks available for sale inside the concession car. Children will receive a Blue Ridge Scenic Railway jingle bell, candy cane, and activity packet while on board. DATES: Nov. 26-Dec. 23, 2021
TubaChristmas Blue Ridge. Enjoy the 14th Annual Blue Ridge TubaChristmas at First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge. Tuba and Euphonium players of all ages and abilities are welcome. And if you don’t play — come out to hear the awesome music at Noon. DATE: Nov. 27, 2021
Make Yuletide Decor at Deep Roots Orchard. Sit within the orchard house at Deep Roots Orchard in McCaysville and craft some beautiful Yuletide decorations from natural products. They will show you how to make ornaments, garland, wreaths, and other old fashioned, beautiful, and simple holiday decorations that capture the spirit of an old Appalachian Christmas/Yule, and you will leave with what you make. Kiwanis Christmas Parade. Save the date for the Copperhill Kiwanis Club 62nd Annual Christmas Parade. Always held (weather permitting) the first Saturday in December. Come out to take part of a fun and exciting day! Held in the twin cities of Downtown McCaysville, GA and Copperhill, TN. DATE: Dec. 5, 2021 at 2 p.m.
Christmas Tour of Homes. Join Fannin County Family Connection on their Christmas Tour of Homes in Blue Ridge. Ticket holders will meet at the Fannin County Family Connection Community Room for holiday refreshments between 11 am and 2 pm. Once there you will receive your maps and directions, along with credentials for entry into each of the homes. You may visit homes between 1 PM until 6 PM. DATE: Dec. 5, 2021
