Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel Exhibition Comes To Atlanta

Have you always dreamed of seeing the Sistine Chapel? Even though travel restrictions make it hard to get to Italy right now, you don’t have to go far to see beautiful artwork.

Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel, an internationally acclaimed touring exhibition, opens at the Westside Cultural Arts Center this month. Early bird tickets are now on sale online for the exhibition that runs every Thursday – Sunday from February 13 – May 23, 2021.

This traveling showcase features awe-inspiring reproductions of Michelangelo’s ceiling frescoes displayed in the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City. The exhibition highlights 34 reproductions, mostly created in their original size, allowing visitors to observe all the intricate details of these masterpieces.

“We are excited to bring this exhibition to Atlanta,” said Martin Biallas, CEO of Los Angeles based SEE Attractions, Inc., producer of the Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel Exhibition. “We’re certain that Atlantans and guests from the Southeast will be impressed with these masterworks.”

State-of-the-art technology allows for one of mankind’s greatest artistic achievements to reach more people as visitors are fully immersed in this intriguing experience. Michelangelo’s celebrated scenes — normally viewed from the ground to the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel — are now re-created at eye level.

Famous works from the chapel featured in the exhibition include “The Creation of Adam” and “The Last Judgement.” Visitors who have never seen the original paintings will be amazed at the level of detail, while those who have visited the Sistine Chapel can view the artwork from a new perspective.

“We are thrilled to host this one-of-a-kind exhibition, giving the people of Atlanta the opportunity to immerse themselves in artwork and history, especially during a time when travel is limited.” said Joseph Barrera, Director of Operations for Westside Cultural Arts Center. “Visitors from all over will be able to explore Michelangelo’s prominent works in an innovative space, here in Atlanta’s West Midtown.”
